My passion for VOC free homes

My passion for fine building started at the tender age of 16 when I enrolled in Austria in a carpentry school.

After completing a 3 years training program, I worked as a  skilled finishing carpenter and cabinet maker in Austria, Switzerland and the UK for 12 years.

A strong interest in environmentally

friendly building awoke in me while

living in the UK. Living in a country

where there is a lack of nature made

it clear to me that our ways of building

and how we treat our world has to change.

In 2006, beautiful British Columbia, Canada beckoned, and a new era in carpentry began. Learning the BC building code, I worked in Victoria for  Mac Renovations as a lead carpenter.

I worked on everything, from window installation, decks, doors to floors, supervised other carpenters and sub-trades and had the opportunity to renovate some beautiful high-end homes in Victoria.

In 2009 a move to the country was needed and moved to Qualicum Beach, where I worked for Camelot Homes. One of the most prestigious projects during my time there was working on the multi-million dollar home: 'Music by the

Sea' This project involved handcrafting to exacting standards. The entertainment room was designed and installed by a colleague and myself.

My family and I moved to the Cowichan Valley in 2011, and Cowichan Fine Interiors was created, which has expanded into Cowichan Fine Building.

I continually grew and expanded my knowledge about building with the healthiest possible outcome in mind throughout these years.

With the company vision to provide healthy and sustainable building methods to my customers.

I was committed to finding building practices that are better for people's health.
